Rules

Rules are essentially recognition engine filters. They are designed to allow the designer to define system-wide changes to the Newlook generated interface. Rules also provide a number of administrative features, such as the configuration of Smartclient user access rights.

Some reasons for defining Rules in your solution include:

• Easily find and modify recurring screen elements.
• Globally enable or disable the generation of specific controls.
• Configure subfile generation rules to conform with your specific application.
• Add or modify definitions to allow Newlook to automatically display pop-up windows.
• Restrict Smartclient user access to specific features
